Plumbing Engineering combines trades of civil, mechanical, chemical, fire protection, process engineering. Plumbing includes various types of work such as fitting and cutting the plastic pipes, gluing the pipe, prepping & soldering lines. Both are art and science type of work includes plumbing .The great job performed by plumbing system applying water to the house and also removing waste water. Possible danger of sewer gases leaking back into the waste pipes is prevented by vents and drain traps. In vents system, all the used water and waste transports to common septic system. It prevents dangerous gases and inhibits drainage. It should not terminate in the upper floor. Drain traps mostly present to prevent sewer gas form in waste water lines come back into the house .Theses traps must be at sinks, tubes and toilets. Drain pipes work properly in downward slop condition. The only plumbing to hook up the drain lines from the kitchen sink.
In water supply system, water is mainly comes from main city water supply. Pump is used to force the water from well. And for the house which takes water from main supply they used pipe system. In which meter is used to check water used by owner. For convenient in case of an emergency or of repairs the pipe, the line valve should be near to the beginning of the incoming line. To prevent leakage of water and waste water mostly rigid plastic PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) pipe are used. These pipes are sealed with glue. Copper, CPVC plastic and Galvanized steel are used for the main water supply. During the various processes of plumbing, the valve of main water supply should be off. The copper water lines made by sweating or soldering two copper pipes. In some, propane torch is used for fit the pieces together and heat the joint.
Some additional fittings are used in plumbing systems. It consists of different parts. Closet flange is the drain pipe to which the closet is connected. Plumbers has job related to maintaining and repairing the pipes. The local plumber has unique national plumbing code near to them at the time of making building. This national code used to specify internal diameter of pipe, to describe shutoff valves should be placed. There are various types of national plumbing code are there. The Building Code concerns construction, renovation, and demolition. The Code gives technical requirements for the various projects and does not relate to existing buildings. Code includes various information such as fire Protection, occupant safety and accessibility, structural design, environmental separation, heating, ventilating & air-conditioning and plumbing services related to that building. Good plumbers should have understanding of how to safely integrate a complexity of pipes.
